Majestic Dance Academy opened its doors in August of 1987. It was established by sisters Susan Myers and Donna Oas. They began with a small one classroom studio and have grown into a large 3000 square foot building. The directors have danced all of their lives and naturally have the gift of teaching the love of this art.

Majestic Ballet was formed in 1992 with the sole purpose of giving the older more advanced students the opportunity to showcase their talents. Our debut performance in December 1992 was the excerpts from the Nutcracker with a cast of 30. This will be Majestic Ballet’s 30th performance of the Nutcracker. Local businesses helped by donating their time, efforts and funds to make this a truly community extravaganza.

Majestic Ballet has performed throughout the community at local fairs, festivals, retirement homes and churches. The directors of the company choreographed the program for the Miss Christian Teen USA pageant, which was televised nationally. The members of the Ballet Company performed during the pageant.

Many of the Dancers of Majestic Ballet have auditioned for and been accepted to study ballet in summer intensives at Joffery Ballet, Houston Ballet Academy, Ballet Austin, Kansas City Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, North Carolina School for the Arts, Texas Ballet, Fort Worth Ballet, UNT and TCU. Some of Majestic’s alumni have careers on Broadway, are studying at Alvin Aileys and have teaching careers around the United States.

We are very proud of these young dancers who have chosen to fulfill their dreams of becoming the best possible dancers with hard work and true dedication.
