Donna Oas

Donna graduated from high school and moved to New York City for a year of intense ballet training. She was then accepted into Houston Ballet in 1976 under the direction of James Clouser and in 1977, she was accepted into the Dallas ballet and performed as part of the company until 1983 under the direction of George Skibine and Flemming Flindt. She was also on the faculty of Dallas Ballet Academy until 1984. She and her family moved to Grapevine in 1985, and she co-founded the academy with her sister Susan. She enjoys sharing her dance knowledge with surrounding schools, teaching them “Cotillion.” She believes to enrich all ages and backgrounds with this art of dance along with the discipline and ettiquette they will need for the future. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family and her grandsons, Ethan, Maverick, Cooper and Jaxon.

Susan Myers

Susan continued her education out of high school and graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana with a BS degree In Business Administration. While attending college, she danced in the University Dance Troupe. She began teaching dance in 1974 at Northside Dance Academy in Lafayette Louisiana and was assistant director from 1977 until 1980. She then taught at Gerami Academy of Fine Arts in Lafayette Louisiana where she taught from 1980 until 1986 when she and her family moved to Grapevine. Susan continues her dance education by attending and observing classes at various teacher workshops and conventions.

April Oas

April is a 31 year old ex-Fillie Sr. Lieutenant and graduate of Grapevine High School. She started dancing at the age of two and has not missed a year. She has taught the past 13 years at the Academy and the past 10 years as co-director on the Competition Teams. She went to college on a dance scholarship where in her first semester she realized what she lived for – Her passion to teach and share the dance world with her willing students. After moving back to Grapevine, and teaching yet once again, April noticed that teaching was her arrangement for life. She hopes to expand her teaching skills while still improving in her own skills so that it will assist her to become a well-rounded teacher. April has choreographed many competition routines for Drill Teams and has also critiqued and polished Varsity Choreography.

Emily Myers Vargas

Emily Myers began dancing at the age of three. She was a founding member of Majestic Ballet Company and danced the lead roles in Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and many other peices choreographed by the directors of the Company. She auditioned and was accepted to many summer intensives including-Joffery Ballet in New York and San Antonio, Kansas City Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, and Ballet Austin where she received a partial scholarship. After graduating from high school, she was a student at Fort Worth Ballet. She was asked by the director of the company to understudy waltz and snow corp for the companys production of The Nutcracker. Emily moved to Austin in 2002 to further her studies at Ballet Austin and Atomic Dance. She returned to North Texas and Majestic Dance in 2004 and formed MDA competition team. Emily continuously trains to keep herself active in the dance world at Houston Met, Planet Funk, Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center and attends Jump and Pulse workshops. She has taken master classes from some of the top names in the dance world such as Wade Robson, Mia Michaels, Dave Scott, Mandy Moore, Dee Caspbery, Brice Moussett and Derick Mitchell. This is Emily’s 9th year teaching at MDA and her goal as a teacher is not only to teach technique but to share with her students her love of the art of dance.

Kelsey Goldman

Kelsey White began her dance training at the age of 2, studying: ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and tap. She started dancing competitively when she was 6 years old and continued throughout high school, winning several awards, including Starlight Grand National Champions. Kelsey was a Jr. and Sr. Lieutenant on the Grapevine High School Fillies Dance Team, where she won 2 national titles. Junior and Senior year, Kelsey was a recipient of the “Dance Award” and the “Showmanship Award” by the Fillies Drill Team. While on Drill Team, Kelsey took several Outstanding Soloist Awards, as well as 1st place ensemble in a contemporary duet. Kelsey recently graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. During her time at UNT, she choreographed several award winning solos and ensembles, which include “Best Choreography” at Thunderstruck Dance Competition. Kelsey has taken master classes from several top names including: Dave Scott, Wade Robson, Mollea Harrison, Gino Johnson, Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio, Laurianne Gibson & Brian Friedman. Kelsey is thrilled about her fifth year with Majestic Dance Academy and excited to share her passion, emotional expression and style of dance.

Chelsea Williams

Chelsea Williams started dancing at the age of five with Pat Riddle Dance Academy. After studying with them for a year she became a student at Majestic Dance Academy. She began training in ballet, tap, and jazz. Under the direction of Susan Myers and Donna Oas, Chelsea performed in the classic ballet of The Nutcracker. She has held several roles such as; Jester, Waltz of the Flowers, Russian, Arabian Coffee, Snowflake, Snow Queen, Clara, and Sugar Plum Fairy. In 2000 Chelsea was able to participate in Dina Vail’s ballet performance, based on a Hans Christian Anderson’s tale, “The Little Match Girl.” Also broadening her training, she began classes in hip hop, clogging, lyrical, and contemporary. Throughout high school Chelsea was a member of Southlake Carroll’s Varsity Emerald Belles and held the positions of Junior and Senior Lt. She has competed in Hall Of Fame, Showstoppers, Crowd Pleasers, and Marching Auxiliaries dance competition. Chelsea was accepted into the Kansas City Ballet summer intensive in 2007. She attended the Pulse Dance Convention in Dallas, Texas in December 2009 and was able to take master classes from world renowned choreographers such as Wade Robson, Mia Michaels, and Dave Scott. The summer of 2010 Chelsea traveled to New York for a few days of classes at Broadway Dance Center. She has choreographed several solos for various competitions. After high school Chelsea moved to Florida for college. She joined Mahogany Dance Theatre at Florida A&M University where she danced with them for two years. Soon after, she became an instructor at Excellence Dance Inc. and Mason’s School of Music, Dance, & Arts. Chelsea is thrilled to be back in Texas and teaching at the studio that taught her everything she knows! You might just see her debut again in our annual Nutcracker show because while she teaches various of styles she continues to dance with our studio!

Emily Pue

Emily is a graduate of Grapevine High School where she was a senior lieutenant on the Fabulous Fillies Dance Team. She went on to perform with the Stephen F. Austin Repertory Dance Company her freshman year of college. She then transferred to the University of North Texas where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Dance Education. While at UNT she studied under the direction of James Clouser, Sandi Combest, Mary Lynn Babcock and Shelley Cushman. Emily performed at the American College Dance Festival in Washington, D.C. at the Kennedy Center in the piece entitled, “Desert Lorelei” choreographed by James Clouser. After college, Emily started working as the Tigerette Dance Team Director at Lancaster High School. In 2001 she came back to the area to become the Director of the nationally recognized Grapevine Mustang Belle JV Dance Team and Assistant Director to the national award winning Grapevine Fabulous Fillies Dance Team. She taught Dance I, II and dance team for 11 years until she stayed home to raise her two children. She now teaches preschool and preschool dance. She is excited to join the Majestic Dance Academy Family!
